Scotland Tour 1

: Day 4

Day 4

We travel on the Great Glen Way along Loch Ness which is Scotland’s longest and most mythical loch. We stop off at the legendary Urquhart Castle and enjoy the view over Glen Mor.

Before us lies a rarely beautiful stretch of countryside. On the famous "Road to the Isles“ through Glen Moriston and Glen Shiel we come to the picturesque Eilean Donan Castle. This is a whole work of art dating back to 1230. The first part of the epic "Highlander“ was filmed within the defiant walls of Eilean Donan which is situated on a small island and can only be reached by crossing a bridge. The memories of the immortal Highlander still live on here.

Via the Kyle of Lochalsh we move on to the Isle of Skye. The island owes its name to the extraordinary colour of the sky which arches over it in a strange white light that cannot be described in words.

The driving distance is approximately 150 miles.
