Scotland Tour 1
: Day 3
Our journey on reveals the true beauty of Scotland. A wild romantic stretch which could ideally be described as "purple landscape“ leads through the seemingly never-ending, blooming and splendidly colourful heather landscape of the Grampian Mountains. The Grampian Mountains district is known to many as the famous “Castle Trail“ or “WhiskyTrail“.
At the end of our tour through this landscape of heather we arrive at a site of sad Scottish history, the battlefield of Culloden. It is here that the dream of Scottish freedom and independence ended on April 16, 1746. Ever since the battle, Scotland has remained under English rule. A memorial here bears the memory. More information about Scotland‘s and Culloden‘s history can be obtained in the Visitor’s Centre.
The driving distance is approximately 150 miles.
